Conclusion

The role of technology is high, it plays an important role in sustainability and innovation achieved by a company, as mentioned before through campaigns, sustainability management, Eco-design, and sustainable materials used in Samsung electronics supports the major role that innovation in their technology comes to show. Through the Triple bottom line, it shows the impact of their actions and increases in profit. In addition, when it comes to the people aspect of the company they have increased their diverse population of employees by providing safer workplaces for the employees, resulting in a dropped of injury rate. Moreover, in the efforts in the planet aspect, Samsung has increased their eco-friendly products, the increased the use of renewable energy and the recycling of products. In the five stage of sustainability, they have come to demonstrate that they are in stage three of sustainability which represented by designing sustainable products and services, taking as a guideline the article "Why sustainability is now the key driver of innovation" (Nidumolu et al, 2009).  In addition, Samsung management know- how to scale both supplies of green materials and the manufacture of products.  In order to manufacture eco-friendly products Samsung uses Polyketide plastic which is a high molecular new substance made using carbon monoxide, this decreases resource consumption and reduces environmental pollution compared to existing oil-based plastic. Also,  the company has developed various energy-saving technologies, low-power SoC design LED TVs, software for the power saving mode on PCs and many others eco-friendly and innovative products.By the evidence presented it has come to prove that our hypothesis is correct and Samsung has increased their performance and contributed to innovation. From the Samsung Sustainability Report 2017, Samsung Electronics strives to deliver change every year  and do put effort in developing vast information that is clear, accessible, and easy to understand for the readers that want to know more on what is Samsung doing to impact in a positive way for the people, planet, and for profit.
